Product Description
The testing instrument independently developed and produced by our company is a specialized measuring instrument for measuring the distribution voltage of insulators. It can quantitatively and accurately measure the distribution voltage value at both ends of each insulator without power outage, and record and display the measurement results in real-time data form.

This instrument has the characteristics of high measurement accuracy, wide measurement range, convenient portability, and simple operation, making it very suitable for fast and accurate measurement of the voltage distribution at both ends of disc suspension insulators in on-site operation.

Working principle

During measurement, the detection transmitter is tightly connected to the insulation operating rod, and the tail end of the handheld operating rod contacts the tested insulator. The voltage signals distributed at both ends of the insulator are collected, converted into digital signals through analog-to-digital conversion, and then transmitted to the handheld receiver through RF signals. The handheld receiver calculates and processes the received digital signals, and displays real-time measurement results on the screen.

Basis of judgement

(1) If the voltage value of the tested insulator is less than 50% of the standard specified value, it is judged as a deteriorated insulator.


(2) If the voltage value of the tested insulator is higher than 50% of the standard specified value and significantly lower than the voltage value of the adjacent qualified insulators on both sides, it is judged as a deteriorated insulator.

The distribution voltage standard values of insulator strings for AC transmission lines of different voltage levels are detailed in the appendix.
Functional Features

 (1) This instrument has high voltage tolerance and adopts anti-interference technology to measure the distributed voltage at both ends of the insulator without power outage.
(2) Supporting long-distance data transmission, the data transmission between the detection transmitter and handheld receiver is achieved through radio frequency, making the detection process more convenient and fast.
(3) The detection transmitter can be connected to the insulated operating rod by adjusting the buckle joint, which is suitable for measuring different angles such as tension and suspension.
(4) Automatically count the number of pieces in each string based on the detection data, store the measurement results for each piece, and store the measurement results in a USB flash drive for future reference.
(5)Supports historical data viewing and analysis, allowing historical data stored on a USB stick to be viewed on a handheld receiver, and plotting insulator string voltage distribution curves.
